Steve Church
Steve has spent 31 years in EMS. Starting as an EMT, he received his certification from Delta College - University Center, Michigan, in 1982. He immediately went to work as an EMT for the Mid-Michigan Medical Center Emergency Medical Services in Midland, Michigan. In 1984, he received his EMT-P certification from Delta College - University and served as a paramedic supervisor with the Saginaw Emergency Medical Services until 1989. In 1990, Steve began work as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit paramedic for Mid-Michigan Medical Center Emergency Medical Services, where he still serves today. In 1997, Steve began conducting private research and development for EMS Spinal Mobilization Products and in 2000 was issued U.S. Patent #6,092,525 for Spinal Immobilization Products.
LT. Deslie Galloway
Lt. Galloway is the Training Officer at the Eufaula Extension of the Alabama Fire College. Deslie has been a member of the fire service for 23 years. He began his career as a First Responder by serving in Aviation Crash Rescue for the United States Army. Lt Galloway has been an adjunct instructor at the Alabama State Fire College since 1994, and has served with the Eufaula, Alabama, Fire Department for the last ten years. He is the current Fire Training Officer for the department, and has held the rank of Lieutenant for the last 4 ½ years. Prior to his work in Eufaula, he was an EMT with Haynes Ambulance Service and the Montgomery County (Alabama) Fire Association. His many certifications include Airport Firefighter, Wildland Firefighter, Pumper, Aerial Apparatus Operator, Mobile Water Supply Apparatus Operator, Advanced Crash Victim Extrication, Rope and Confined Space Rescue, Heavy Track Operator, Arson Investigator Level II, Public Safety Telecommunicator I and II, Instructor III, and Fire Officer III.
Riley Land
Deputy Director, Emergency Management Division, Columbus(GA) Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Riley is responsible for the emergency and disaster planning efforts for the city as well as the coordination of all city, state, and federal resources that would respond to Columbus in the event of a major emergency or disaster. He serves as the Communications Leader for the Georgia Search and Rescue Task Force 4A (GSARTF 4A) based in Columbus. GSAR TF 4A is one of six teams in the State of Georgia trained and equipped to respond to structural collapse, high angle, trench, and swift water rescue. GSARTF 4A is on call to respond in Georgia and on mutual aid requests out of the state. Mr. Land has received specialized training in emergency management and has trained with the F.B.I. and Treasury Department in explosives post blast investigation. He has also trained with the Department of Energy in radiological response to weapons of mass destruction incidents and in responding to chemical and biological weapons with the Department of Defense in the Federal Domestic Preparedness program.
Mr. Travis LeDuc
Mr. Le Duc is currently the Director of the Tohono O'odham Nation Regional Partnership Council of First Things First, a Vail Community Action Board member, and a Securing Tohono O'odham Project (STOP) member. Mr. Le Duc's involvement in the EMS community started with his enlistment at 17 as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army. His military career eventually led him to become an Army Aviation Crewmember tasked with embassy support and response for Europe and North Africa. In both the medical and aviation branches, Mr. Le Duc was recognized for his contribution to international first responder missions, coalitions, and operations. In these roles, he has built and maintained strong working relationships with fellow members, community leadership, community organizations, and host Nations. Mr. Le Duc is a convener in the change process, ensuring that opportunities are coordinated, with existing capacities, to effectively accomplish the goals of individuals, communities, and organizations.
CPT Steve Watkins.
Captain Watkins has served in public safety as a police officer for 18 years, the last 13 with the Eufaula, Alabama, Police Department. He has risen through the ranks, and attained the rank of Captain in 2011. Captain Watkins currently oversees the operations of the department, including the patrol division, communications division, animal control division, and the local jail. He is the Tactical Team Commander and a member of the State of Alabama Critical Incident Stress Management Team. CPT Watkins is also an FBI-certified Firearms Instructor and a PPCT Defensive Tactics Instructor. In addition to his professional duties, Captain Watkins is active in the local community, serving in various civic organizations. He teaches Hunter Safety Courses in Barbour County, and to date has instructed over 2000 hunters.
